Memorial Day is just a few short days away, and the Sopp family will be packing our bags and heading to Maine! I absolutely cannot wait! It will be the first time any of us has been to Maine and also the first time we are taking a beach trip as a family of three (usually we spend beach weekends with my amazing large extended family)! I've been starting to ponder what I should bring on this trip and thought I would share my ideas. Although I know it's a little early in the season I'm hoping for weather that will be warm but comfortable during the day, but I'm also also prepared for coastal Maine to get chilly at night.

This striped tiered maxi dress would be perfect as we explore Maine's coastal towns during the day. I adore how it has a tie at the waist. I also think these crop white sailor pants would be ideal for slightly cooler temperatures on the coast. How adorable would they look with a striped tee?! You can even add a blazer if temperatures really dip. And speaking of cooler New England temperatures, I'm picturing wearing this striped sweater sipping wine outside with Brian after Bennett goes to bed. After living up here for a few years I have come to learn that "summer sweaters" are essential. How adorable are these pink Jack Rogers flip-flops?! They would be the perfect sandals all summer long. Whenever I head to the beach I always bring a baseball cap as well as a wide brim hat. I am so obsessed with this lobster embroidered hat and I love the frayed brim of this straw hat! And how AMAZING is this off-shoulder one-piece swimsuit!? The ruffles are so adorable, and I love that you can just throw on a skirt or pair of shorts and you instantly have a cute outfit! I also want to take a simple white dress and pair it with a cute colorful pair of drop earrings. I plan on wearing it to the casual, dockside restaurants we have on our itinerary and will throw on my new favorite denim jacket if I'm cold. And since I'm going to Maine I can't help but envision bringing this cute lobster tee for lounging and wearing it with a pair of distressed denim shorts. I'm pretty picky about how "distressed" the distress on a pair of shorts should be, but I think this pair really hits the mark. They are pretty dear and a good deal more than I've ever spent on a pair of shorts, but since I'm sure I'll pretty much live in them this summer, I think they're worth the investment. And, finally, I've been searching for the perfect beach tote, and I think I have found it in this amazing seagrass bag. I am obsessed with the fringe and ribbon detail on the front!

I would love to hear all of your Memorial Day Weekend plans plus any recommendations you have for visiting coastal Maine! We will be staying in Ogunquit, which is just south of Kennebunkport. I hope this selection inspired your Memorial Day packing lists and you all have the very best week!
