Cocktail Hour- Cranberry Ginger Sparkler

Cranberry Ginger Sparkler

This is my first official cocktail post for Fall and I think we're starting off my favorite cocktail season well with this sparkly treat that combines cranberry, pear and ginger!

Cranberry Ginger Sparkler

During Fall I buy mini white pumpkins every time I'm in a grocery store.  Seriously, I have a problem.

Cranberry Ginger Sparkler

I garnished this cocktail with whole cranberries because I like the tartness in contrast with the sweetness of the drink but it would also be fun to sugar them.  Here is a recipe for sugared cranberries from Damn Delicious.

How pretty is the color of this drink?  It truly looks and tastes lovely and it's a wonderful Fall cocktail to be enjoyed by you or your guests.  As always I would love to hear what you think about the cocktail in the comments section below!  Cheers!

Cranberry Ginger Sparkler (makes 2 cocktails)

Ingredients

Ginger Simple Syrup:

1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp fresh ginger (peeled & roughly chopped)

Cocktail:

5 oz 100% cranberry juice (I used this one from Whole Foods)
3 oz pear juice (I used the Looza brand from Whole Foods)
3 oz gin (This one is my current favorite)
1 oz ginger simple syrup
Ginger beer
Whole cranberries & candied ginger for garnish

Instructions

Ginger Simple Syrup:

Stir sugar and water in small pot on medium-high heat until sugar is dissolved.  Turn off heat and add ginger and allow to cool to room temperature.  Strain.  (**Simple syrup can be stored in airtight container in fridge up to 1 month)

Cocktail:

Fill cocktail shaker with ice and add cranberry juice, pear juice, gin and ginger simple syrup.  Shake well, pour into glass and top with ginger beer.  Garnish with cranberries and candied ginger.
