Button-Front Sundress

Brian's birthday was Saturday and I had a whole day of fun planned..
We started the day off with breakfast tacos at home (Brian would eat Mexican food for every meal of the day if he could). Then we decided to burn off our hearty breakfast with a walk around Chestnut Hill Reservoir.

Chestnut Hill Reservoir is such a beautiful place to enjoy a walk.  The jogging path is a mile and a half around and there are the most stunning views of Boston College's campus peeking out of the hills.

Since Brian's birthday was going to consist of a brewery tour and walking around the Seaport followed by dinner in the North End, I chose to wear this cotton Old Navy sundress because I wanted to be a little dressed up but also stay cool during all our walking.  As I mentioned HERE, I'm really into outfits that somehow easily open in the front since I'm still breastfeeding.  Having a frontal zipper or buttons really make it so much easier to quickly and discreetly nurse Bennett while out and about.

I, as usual, was first drawn to this dress for the stripes.  (I swear 80% of my wardrobe is striped).  As I talked about HERE, I've downsized my wardrobe to only include more classic looks, and stripes never go out of style.

I decided to wear my Old Navy Dress with my Gap Straw Hat and Jack Rogers sandals.  I've always loved wearing hats.  I'm not sure exactly why but I guess it just makes me feel very Audrey and I'm also a fan of the added sun protection. I've been wearing a ton of hats lately because of postpartum hair changes.  Unfortunately, no matter what I do to my hair, it's been looking pretty limp. It makes me so sad because I really enjoyed my awesome voluminous pregnancy hair :)  I'm seriously obsessed with this hat and can't wait to wear it all summer long!

When the sun went down, I just threw a button-down chambray shirt over my dress and knotted the bottom.

I'm also so sorry about the lighting in these pictures being all over the place. We're experimenting with using our camera in the manual setting, and obviously I still have a long way to go.  It's a whole lot harder than I ever thought, and I have the utmost respect for professional photographers.  Brian and I are going to continue to practice and hopefully our pictures will start to exhibit our efforts.

Although my striped dress is almost sold out, I am linking a chambray version which is the prettiest light shade of chambray and ON SALE!!  I'm 5'3 and wearing a petite (it hits an inch and a half above my knees). And speaking of chambray, how cute is this Old Navy Chambray Off-Shoulder ?!!

Have a great week!
